I’m having some issues with getting the asset manager to load, missing DLLs and I’m in the middle of my work week, but I will have some info to put up here soon. Dedication is the biggest different factor in a lot of those cases. There are a ton of homeless people with skill, and skilless people with jobs. So while I thank you all for the praise and happiness, just remember if you yourself want to mod, the biggest thing is dedication. The revamp made Embermage a tad bit too strong and Outlander the weakest since it hardly receive any changes. Salan only managed to fully revamp Embermage and a few of Engineer/Berserker skills before he went on an indefinite hiatus (). Synergies was never a mod that had a ‘final’ state in mind, It literally could go forever with how it was designed. iirc vanilla classes in Synergies were supposed to be revamped. It did the one thing all the other things were never able to do in the beginning, stall the mod. After over 3000 hours spent working on the mod, I hit a horrible snag on the paladin and it drained me completely. People can say Synergies is stalled and not finalized atm, I’d agree with the first part. The biggest mark of my success was my absolute dedication to getting it done. I got lucky with Torchlight 2 in that my vision of what I wanted the game to be was a lot like other peoples. I’m nothing special guys, I taught myself how to mod on Company of Heroes and then Torchlight 2. Still finalizing the details and I have to play through GrimDawn over again to actually know the game. TBA WHAT THE MOD WILL BE EXACTLY, but it will resemble what I did in TL2 I’m not worried if it takes as long as synergies did to fulfill (still have things left I need to do there…ugh only 3 years later right?) You can help give input on the mod as a whole as well, although I will personally keep the actual modding to just myself for the start at least. Note that these mods are not compatible with other mods that provide classes with the same names. For the Synergies version (DrewSynClasses.mod), it needs to be loaded before the SynergiesMOD in order to work correctly. If you are someone who would like to have icon art and portrait art seen by a lot of people, let me know. Archer, Assassin, Blighted One, Druid, Monk, Prophet and Psion classes for use with or without the SynergiesMod. Of course I still have some work to do on Torchlight 2, but that paladin just keeps killing me, so its time to consider a second project to bring that spark back. I will need to find an artist to help flesh it out. Torchlight 2 has gotten an ambitious mod called 'Synergies,' which adds a new class, more loot, and end-game bosses. It also seems geared towards a very active n. So who knows if I’ll decide differently in the future or not.I have been following grim dawn since the very beginning and bought it when it became available on steam, I have to say it is an awesome game. The minions arent strong enough, despite investing all my points into them. To me the creation and community is so far payment enough. Family is first, even if I sneak away to read a forum thread here or there! My wife is the biggest pusher for me to justify my time by earning something by doing it. Times where my house is full and I don’t get anytime to do anything. I have times where I have an empty house and I get a lot done. Can’t have her emotional outrages be about anything OTHER than being killed by insanely fun encounters, right? I have a family, I work, and when my kids go to bed, I generally try to mod, or spend some quality time with the misses. The amount of time I spend making this mod is incalculable. I’ve had a lot of questions about where is my donation box. It’s something I truly love doing but I didn’t want to make the mod about payment at the start. I would even go so far as to look into a change of employment if I could go that route. Salan: To be honest, I would love to be paid for this work. Later Salan decided to integrate directly my mod into his with my agreement as he saw some mechanisms was useful for him too. He made several topics to help improve compatibility between mods, Salan and I entered in contact to see how could we make our mods compatible and some technical convention were made up so players can both use Synergies and my mod. Early in development Salan saw that mods were conflicting, this is due to collision with RAW files. Also Webbstre the owner of Runic Game Fansite is hosting many mods freely and is the biggest Torchlight 1 and 2 mod repository. They made all the tools we are using now. Kelintor: Modding Pre-Guts was possible only thanks to these people : Raptor, cienislaw, Jarcho, Sluggington, MazeXD, fgaaghf. It has helped with a lot of things and he was very gracious at listening to my constant feedback while developing it and hopefully Chthon’s Rapid respec tool will become compatible at some point in the future for all these awesome new classes, that would be something the community itself would benefit from! I have used Sarkilas’s Enemy Modifier tool a lot though. Now I use the above mentioned converters, and notepad.
